You say Blackberry – I say Blueberry

Today after a week of agony I finally got my new Blackberry 7250 fully operational. The process really would have been pretty easy but?our sales person ordered the device incorrectly and I could not active the service properly. This clerical error set off chains of conversations and hours of calls with Sprint trying to get the problem resolved. Finally, after seemingly moving heaven and earth to get someone at Sprint to correct the problem (probably by clicking some checkbox on a computer screen) the ESN swap occurred.

SIDEBAR: Can anyone tell me why dealing with all cellular companies has to be like having a root canal and colonoscopy simultaneously?

After trying a Samsung i500, and a Treo 650 for wireless email service, I have come to realize there really is nothing like the Blackberry. I guess if I had not tasted the blackberry long ago (when I worked for Idea Integration) I might have been more satisfied with one of the other solutions, unfortunate.

I have only used it for a day now but as expected I?m very happy with the data aspects of the service?that said the phone seems to leave a little to be desired?.for example I can?t hear the ringer! I also seemed to have missed some calls that never rang the device. I will watch this very closely in the coming days, perhaps it is just some option or setting…I just hope it is not a “feature”.
The thing I always try to remember is no device is perfect (yet) and you have just got to take the bad with the good and move on (assuming the good is more than the bad).

I will say that above all else I feel very blessed to have access to such great technology (yes I realize this is slightly whacked because it simply means I?m going to work more – good thing I love my job).
