Prepaid Cellular Phones…

We are starting a new Ministry at CFBC this weekend.  The ministry is called G.R.O.W. or God Rewards Our Witness.  The ministry is going to have four ministry teams each week who will participate in 1) Prayer, 2) Letter Writing, 3) Phone Calling, and 4) Personal home visits.  In order to allow for maximum flexibility for the phone calling teams we decided to use cell phones for the teams.  This would allow the volunteers to go anywhere on campus to find a private and quite place.   We decided to use prepaid cell phones because we will only be using them one day a week, and Cingular has a plan that allows for ten cents a minute plus one dollar per day the phone is used…a very good deal when you only use the phone one day a week.

After all the volunteer teams were accounted for it turned out we needed 15 phones.  So I headed out to the store to buy the phones…GUESS WHAT?  Not an easy chore, it turns out it takes an act of congress to buy more than two Prepaid Cellular phones.  Well after three hours of discussing and convincing, the manager finally agreed and we now have our 15 prepaid cellular phones.

Here they are all charging…notice the Power Squids!
