Tonight as I prepare for bed, I sit a grateful and humbled man. At church tonight we had a very special service?we simply prayed for those effected by the horrible hurricane and worshiped our sovereign God. It was in a word, POWERFUL. There is always something amazing about bringing a family like CFBC?s together for the sole purpose of prayer and worship. Along with our members, we had many guests from Louisiana?they were homeless, scared, sad, and in many cases broken but in the midst of such great tragedy they were also grateful. At first glace you say grateful? But the answer is yes, grateful?grateful to be alive, to know where their families were, to have a place to eat and so on. Throughout the service, several of the refugees gave testimonies about how they had been affected by the hurricane. I must say it is one thing to see the people and images on television?.it is completely different to see and hear in person the pain, suffering, and even tears of people who will likely never be the same. It is in a time like this I am so grateful to know that I have a Sovereign God who Loves, Protects, and even Cherishes me?a comfort that I pray the victims of this tragedy could all come to know and rest in.
